How it runs

Custom Homes, step by step.

The drawing completes as each step does
  1. Site walk

We walk the lot with you, review the survey and septic plan, and talk through how you want to live in the house.

  2. Drawings and estimate

Working from your architect’s set or our design partner’s, we put every line of the estimate in writing.

  3. Permits and site work

Building permit, conservation commission and board of health filings, then clearing, foundation and utilities.

  4. Frame, dry-in and systems

Our crew frames and dries in the house; licensed trade partners rough in plumbing and electrical.

  5. Finishes and keys

Trim, cabinets, tile and paint, a walk-through punch list and your keys.

FAQ

Custom Homes questions.

How long does a custom home take to build on Cape Cod?

It depends on size and finishes. Permitting alone can take several weeks to a few months, longer when a lot sits near wetlands or inside a historic district. We give you a written schedule before construction starts.

Can you build from my architect’s drawings?

Yes. We build from your architect’s set, flag anything that will be harder to build than it looks, and build it as drawn.

Will you look at a lot before I buy it?

Yes, and we recommend it. We review the survey, septic options, flood zone and setbacks so you know what the site involves before you commit to the land.
