Permits
We file the building permit and any conservation commission or historic district review.
Build and tie in
Foundation, frame, roof tie-in and dry-in first, so the existing house is open for as few days as possible.

FAQ
Additions questions.
Can we live in the house during an addition?
In most additions, yes. We build the new space first and open the wall to the existing house near the end, behind dust walls.
Do additions near wetlands need extra approval?
Work within 100 feet of a wetland usually needs a filing with the town conservation commission. We check this at the site walk and include the timeline in your schedule.
Should we build up or build out?
A second story saves lot coverage and septic capacity, but needs engineering, a temporary roof and a new stair. When the lot allows both, we walk you through each option.
